Werner Bertsch’s sun-drenched landscapes have appeared in calendars, travel books and on postcards for more than 30 years. Formally trained as a portrait photographer, he built a career in travel photography, starting with images of his native Austrian Alps.
    For his early work in the Alps, he won the Austrian Tourism Board's Grand Prix; since then he has won numerous industry awards for best postcard, best photo-book and best calendar.
    Today, his work spans the capital cities and remotest beaches of five continents, and his personal archive holds 1.3 million images. With 35 books  and more than a million calendars sold, Bertsch is one of the most prolific commercial photographers alive.
    In 1982, Bertsch moved to Florida and turned his focus to the Caribbean islands and the southern United States. His publishing and photo-production company, PostCard USA, is the market leader for postcards and souvenir images.
